Lahaina
Lahaina may, at first look, seem like just another port town. Much to one's surprise, this picturesque city is full of life, trinkets to buy, and reflections of its lovely past. Be sure to take note of the town's rich fishing history; many of the buildings feature this 1800's trend. Day or night, Lahaina is a town to entertain.

Pa'ia Town
Pa'ia is a town which has evolved over the years with hopes to entice the island's guests. In early 1990, it thrived as a sugar cane plantation while in the 1960's the town was a gathering place for hippies. Today, Pa'ia is home to the annual world class windsurfing competition. Despite the fact that this event only occurs once a year, it is always possible to sight surfers in action.

Hana
The adventure does not end once you complete the trek to Hana. This town, which is most often visited by families or those who wish to escape, has several outdoor, affordable activities to enjoy. In fact, oftentimes things to do are free! Filled with several natural treasures, it would be a good idea to travel to this town with a camera in hand.

Wailua Town
Located off the Highway to Hana, this quaint town is an excellent place to stop and celebrate the fact that, if traveling towards it, you are halfway to Hana! The community of Wailua primarily raises taro -- a large, leafy plant grown in watery fields which is used to make Poi, a traditional Hawaiian dish. This famous purplish, pasty substance is made from pounding the roots of the taro plant. If you would like to witness this beautiful sight, stop before mile marker 19 on the mountain-side of the road, travel up the stairs to the right, and a fantastic view of the fields will present itself.

Kaupo
Kaupo is located on the rugged and desolate coastline of South Maui. It is home to a tiny town and magnificent canyons that march to the sea. Just west of this ideal resting place is the quaint Kaupo Store. The shop offers resfreshments and boasts of its ecclectic collection of knick-knacks.

Mokulau
Located after the "official" end of the Hana Highway, Mokulau is a small coastal town. Most impressive about this town is its dramatic shoreline -- dozens of volcanic flows jut out into the ocean giving it the effect of having multiple little islets along the coast.
